Yesterday we witnessed drones flying over houses in North Nashville and developers cornering distressed neighbors during this tragic and vulnerable time. This can’t happen again! Not on our watch!! We have to protect the last bit of North Nashville we have, or else we will see even more displacement and gentrification. The news media has yet to focus on those areas outside of Germantown and East Nashville that were impacted, so it’s on all of us!
A group of community organizations have come together to combat this predatory development.
The Equity Alliance is organizing a community clean up this Sunday- meet at Lee Chapel AME church at 3:00pm to help out. Strap up and bring some trash bags..all hands on deck! We need volunteers to organize this. Contact The Equity Alliance for info.
They are also organizing two community listening sessions for residents who want to know what their options are with their properties: Monday 3/9 at 12:00 and at 6:00pm.
They will have insurance, realtors, banking and government professionals on hand to answer any questions.
They need real estate professionals, lawyers, government officials and insurance professionals to assist with gathering resources and sharing with residents.
